Musical Director - Thomas Kehoe

Thomas Kehoe holds a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge where he had the opportunity to study undersome of the finest exponents of choral music in the world, honing choral and orchestral conducting techniques.

During his time as an undergraduate at University College Dublin, Thomas was awarded both choral and organ scholarships and was afforded the opportunity to perform Bach’s monumental B Minor Mass, as part of UCD’s 150th celebrations. He then completed a Masters in Music at UCD in 2005 and took on the role of principal conductor of the UCD Philharmonic Choir. Along with performing, he taught a number of modules in music, both at UCD and the Royal Irish Academy of Music including tonal and modal counterpoint, history of music, music theory and harmony.

He has been fortunate to have toured extensively throughout Ireland, Europe and the US as a singer, accompanist and conductor. Upon returning to Ireland, Thomas forged a full-time career in music and currently directs a number of award-winning choirs, including youth, mixed voices and male voice choirs. He has been conducting The Kilkenny Choir since 2018 and has performed a number of works including Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, Mozart’s Requiem, Rutter’s Gloria and most recently Haydn’s Theresienmesse.

Accompanist - Sean Grace

Since graduating with a Bachelors of Music degree in 2018, Seán has been working in Kilkenny as both a piano teacher and an accompanist, notably performing with the award-winning CBS Kilkenny Senior Choir of which he was a member while in school. 

Seán holds independent teaching positions as a piano instructor in Bunscoil McAuley Rice, Callan and CBS Secondary School, Kilkenny.
