The Kilkenny Choir
We are back with weekly practice from 8 – 10 pm each Wednesday in The Presentation Primary School, Kilkenny.
The Kilkenny Choir is a mixed voice choir of 62 members. It was founded in 1992 by Philip Edmondson and has become a nationally recognized choral ensemble. Their biannual concerts which feature professional orchestras and soloists draw in appreciative audiences.
The Choir boasts a repertoire that spans musical works from 17th Century composers Monteverdi and Bach to 20th Century Britten and Lauridsen taking in other composers like Handel, Mozart, Hayden and Dvorak along the way. The Kilkenny Choir has collaborated with a number of other choirs.
The current choir director is Thomas Kehoe who has been working with the choir for the past 5 years.
The Kilkenny Choir has, throughout its’ years, afforded many members the opportunity to sing the great works to an exceptionally high standard while pushing the musical boundaries in Kilkenny. The Choir has also
travelled and performed in Arlon, Lucca, Paris, Bruges and Dubrovnik

thomas Kehoe
Thomas Kehoe is a masters graduate of University College Dublin and University of Cambridge and has held previous positions as Director of Music with UCD Philharmonic Choir and Principal Guest Conductor of Mullingar Choral Society. He is currently MD of Ballinteer Male Voice Choir and The Amici Singers, while holding the post of organist in Kilmacud Parish. Thomas moved to Kilkenny in 2016 and has immersed himself in the musical culture of the city, notably performing with St Canice’s Cathedral Choir, singing in Kilkenny Arts Festival and accompanying the award-winning choirs of Presentation Secondary School.

Seán Grace
Seán Grace is a graduate from MTU’s Cork School of Music. A Kilkenny man, Seán has been involved with the local music scene from a young age.
Since graduating with a Bachelors of Music degree in 2018, Seán has been working in Kilkenny as both a piano teacher and an accompanist, notably performing with the award-winning CBS Kilkenny Senior Choir of which he was a member while in school.
Seán holds independent teaching positions as a piano instructor in Bunscoil McAuley Rice, Callan and CBS Secondary School, Kilkenny.
